Um--Chocolate Treasure Chest?

Like chocolate? German chocolate? Want a signed copy of The Dust of 100 Dogs? Feel like reading a cool interview in which I reveal my deepest writing secrets? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may want to go HERE , to author Jen K Blom's blog, and enter a groovy contest to win a treasure chest of German chocolate and a free copy of D100D. All you have to do is tell her the jobs you've had in your life. Contest open for a week--until next Friday. Good Luck! While we're on the subject of interviews, TeensReadToo's Jen posted in interview with me HERE earlier this week. And last week, I was very happy to be part of a great project called The Get Inspired Project. The Get Inspired Project is 365 days and 365 interviews about where people get their inspiration. I recommend listening to the audio of my interview HERE because the transcript can seem a bit garbled due to a few errors and my knack for talking in long ideas and run-ons. (Note to self--learn to talk pretty one day.) This interview really got me thinking about inspiration. Hard question to answer: what inspires you? In Other News I got jacket proofs for PLEASE IGNORE VERA DIETZ this week and they ARE AWESOME. Saw the galleys a week or two ago, as well. The design/production teams at Knopf are just plain amazing. (I see chocolate in their future.) We've been hit with several snowstorms this month and I am officially sick of snow now. I hear there is more to come, but I am sticking my fingers in my ears and saying lalalalalalala now. In case you missed it, I posted The Writer's Middle Finger: Part Four this month. It's about hope and being nice to yourself. Oh--and hey--are you going to the Backspace Writers Conference? I am! Check out details here! So--in a few months, this blog is going to go through a great transition! My little blogging break will be over (end of April, which is annual novel writing month for me) and there will be more contests, blogs (including one on how rare poultry breeding and publishing are linked) and a groovy new look. Stay tuned for a blog makeover.
