It's the 1st annual Wagging on Wednesday Slumber Party
WELCOME!
In case you haven't heard, for the entire month of July, we're featuring all kinds of pets here at Dog Fact #9, with small introductions and great pictures, sent by awesome readers! Last week, my friend Beth and her three gorgeous cats came to say hello. Today, I am SO STOKED to welcome brilliant writer and friend, Joanne Levy and her entire crew, including Kia, who we featured here on Wagging on Wednesday back in January.
You might remember Kia--who fluctuates from being the most awesome dog ever to, a dog who--uh--who recently ate a couch. Here is the rest of the family. Joanne says:
Simon
Just over ten years ago, I was up at my local SPCA buying fundraiser lottery tickets when Simon and his brother Hobbes were dropped off in a cardboard box. They were three weeks old. I asked the lady if I could look at them, she said she could do me one better and I could take them home to foster them until they were ready to be adopted out. Needless to say, I left there with lottery tickets (I didn't win) and two tiny little kittens. At the end of the foster period, Simon stayed with me and Hobbes was adopted by a friend. Simon is definitely a lap cuddler. He's a bit shy, but is all about getting and giving love. He will sit on your lap for hours, just to be close.
Chester
Chester is the newest addition to our family, arriving a year ago last January shortly after our beloved old cat Pssst passed away. We saw Chester's picture on the website for a local r

escue and we loved how he looked with his dirty little face. We brought him home and he fell in love with Kia. He will follow her around the house and will lay and snuggle with her at every opportunity. He is named after my husband's favorite local pub, Chester's.
Gabby
Gabby came to us several years ago, after we made a reservation on her egg with a breeder. She is a Timneh African Grey and she totally lives up to her name. She isn't the friendliest or cuddliest bird, preferring only the affections of my husband, but she sure is a talker. She makes various sounds that are pitch perfect (cell phone, oven timer, microwave and my least favorite - the smoke alarm) and she talks up a storm, even laughing in my voice when others are laughing around her. Some of the things she says we taught her "What does a DOG say....RUFF" and some she's learned on her own "Do you need to go out?" (to the dog). My favorite is when she imitates my husband on the phone: "'ello? hey...ya...ya...k...bye."
Joanne, I can't thank you enough for bringing the whole crew around to meet us today at the Dog Fact #9 WOW Slumber Party. Snacks for the hairy ones on the table--for the winged one on top of the fridge and I think there might be a treat for you in the fridge, too.
